History's classic design lives on
While many have dared to copy the CMV 563's classic interchangeabledesign, the original CMV 563 and its capsules have stayed thestandard. The CMV 563 / M7S is a seamless continuation of its richhistory, as painstakingly faithful to the original 1956-releasedmicrophone as today's reasonably available parts and electricalstandards allow. Gefell did choose to use an EF86 tube in place ofthe EC92, ensuring consistent, low-noise, high-dynamic-rangeoperation in the circuit. The end result is the Gefell CMV 563 atits very best — nothing rebuilt, restored, or uncertain. It's asure thing. Use vintage capsules with the CMV 563 / M7S
While the CMV 563 / M7S comes with a brand-new butvintage-design-derived M7 cardioid capsule (the "S" in the namestands for "short"), you have options. The Gefell CMV 563 / M7Sseamlessly works with vintage capsules, making this microphoneamong the most versatile tube microphones available. The CMV 563 /M7S comes with a G/B adapter, allowing you to use the mic withbayonet-type capsules in addition to screw-type capsules.

Meticulous craftsmanship and rigorous testing
When a microphone comes out of the Gefell lab, you know it's beenthoroughly vetted — from the initial design process (in this case,a history-proven, 45-year-strong design) to a mic-by-micexamination and three-way test to ensure every spec andcharacteristic is spot on. Inpidual tubes are specially selectedafter a tube-by-tube measurement and listening process. Eachmicrophone is finally measured in an anechoic chamber andthoroughly listened to, examined, and evaluated before being madeavailable for sale.
