種子精選機(jī)的工作原理是利用種子和其它夾雜物的物理機(jī)械性能的不同來進(jìn)行的。本機(jī)利用以下幾種特性實(shí)現(xiàn)分離。（1）風(fēng)選主要是按重量及空氣動(dòng)力學(xué)特性，通過改變吸風(fēng)道截面積大小得到不同氣流速度而達(dá)到提升種子和精選的目的。（2）篩選是利用種子和混雜物之間在幾何尺寸上的差別，通過一定規(guī)格的孔來分離雜物和瘦籽粒的。本機(jī)所用的篩片有圓孔和長孔兩種。（3）筒選是按種子長度進(jìn)行分離的。

主要用途：該機(jī)通過篩片更換和風(fēng)量調(diào)節(jié)，能對小麥、水稻、高粱、豆類、胡麻、油菜、牧草等種子及顆粒狀化肥進(jìn)行精選、分級，有利于機(jī)械化精量播種。
